Release2026-08-13 · v1.3.2
BRAIN 1.3.2 — new interface, a handbook, and simpler installation
- Redesigned interface: a labelled menu that collapses to just the icons, a start page with suggestions to get going, and calmer colours.
- Conversations can now be searched, archived and deleted — deleted ones go to a wastebasket and can be brought back.
- A handbook in eleven chapters ships with BRAIN: installing, what BRAIN can do, languages, modules, your own documents, troubleshooting.
- “My knowledge” now leads straight to adding your own documents.
- Screenshots can be attached to support messages.
- A quit button closes BRAIN completely — nothing keeps running in the background.
- The add-on for the AI features is now part of the installer and can be ticked during setup; no separate installation needed.
- Uninstalling cleans up completely and stops anything still running first.
Update2026-08-13 · v1.3.2
More knowledge and vocabulary for over 150 languages
- New verified knowledge for every edition — BRAIN fetches it through the update function, no reinstall needed.
- This batch contains 1,978,044 newly verified facts, 1,372,410 word combinations with a source sentence, and 1,130 tested code examples.
- Vocabulary for over 150 languages: from Afrikaans through Icelandic and Korean to Ukrainian. German and English remain part of every edition, the other languages from Standard upwards.
- These are dictionaries for looking words up — meanings, synonyms, common word combinations — not a translation engine for whole texts.
- The current figures now live on webkreators.de under “BRAIN in numbers” and are recounted with every release.
Release2026-08-09 · v1.3.0
BRAIN Community 1.3.0 — multiple-choice questions, honest answers about itself, fewer wrong answers
- BRAIN now answers multiple-choice questions too — but only when the answer is in its verified knowledge. If no option fits, or it is ambiguous, BRAIN says nothing instead of guessing.
- Asked “Are you a human?”, BRAIN now answers honestly and plainly (transparency requirement of the EU AI Act).
- Far fewer wrong answers: BRAIN only replies when the information it found really matches the question asked — tested on 4,326 questions, not one of them answered incorrectly.
- Twice as much language material for writing: 6,116 instead of 3,183 terms with sourced verbs. More topics BRAIN can actually phrase an answer about.
- 3.3 million self-harvested, verified facts as a knowledge source of its own — shipped in full for the first time.
- Note: the installer is numbered 1.3.1 and contains everything from this update.

Release2026-08-02 · v1.2.0
BRAIN 1.2.0 — ready at once, a fifth of the disk space
- No setup run any more: BRAIN is ready seconds after installing — the first start used to take over five hours
- Disk space cut from about 17 GB to 3.7 GB
- Memory use cut from about 3.2 GB to 0.7 GB — 4 GB of RAM is enough
- Your own knowledge stays separate: what BRAIN learns from you goes into its own area, never mixed into the knowledge that ships with it
- Many corrections to factual questions: populations, authors, currencies, official languages and multi-step questions answer reliably again
- Unit conversion and date questions are back
- Unchanged at the core: what BRAIN cannot source, it does not claim
Release2026-07-28 · v1.1.1
BRAIN 1.1.1 — stronger knowledge core, smaller footprint
- New knowledge core: factual questions are answered with a source — across languages and across several reasoning steps
- Over 60 million facts locally — the knowledge database shrinks by more than 80% (about 2 GB instead of 14 GB)
- Sturdier first start: building the knowledge base resumes by itself after an interruption
- New under Help & Support: check for updates and download purchased packages directly
- Unchanged at the core: what BRAIN cannot source, it does not claim
Update2026-07-23 · v1.0.1
Major knowledge update 001
- 196,441 newly verified facts from the automatic knowledge harvest — every entry is validated before it is accepted
- 57,315 word combinations with a source sentence for more natural answers
- 3,877 tested code examples — only what passes the tests is adopted
- 5 new verified example applications

- Reachable from the start page via the “Demos” menu.
New2026-06-25
Autonomous project agent
- Describe a project — the agent breaks it into phases by itself and works through them until it is done.
- Live overview: the plan, the current state and a preview of the result — you can follow along at any time.
- Steer while it runs: drop in remarks and the agent takes them into account immediately.
- The agent checks its own results before reporting completion.

Specialist layer: experts on call
- For special tasks BRAIN loads a matching expert only when it is needed — fast, focused results.
- New experts appear automatically where they are needed, and are tested before they are used.
- Existing experts keep being improved against measured results — only what is demonstrably better is adopted.
- Covered among others: code in several languages, database queries, JSON, formal letters and applications, finance/IBAN, good writing.
New2026-06-24
Built-in spelling and grammar checker (offline)
- Checks German text for spelling, grammar, punctuation and style — entirely offline, no data sent anywhere.
